Business verification
A structured review of a business against the criteria for the level selected. Depending on level this can cover legal identity and registration records, registered address, working contact details, website ownership, digital footprint and trading activity.
Certificate issuance
Approved businesses receive a dated certificate carrying a unique certificate ID, the certification level, the issue and expiry dates, and a QR code that resolves to the public register entry.
Public register listing
Every certificate is published to the register, searchable by business name, certificate ID, country, industry and certification level. The entry shows the current status rather than the status on the day the certificate was printed.
Badge licensing
Certified businesses may display the VBC badge for the period the certificate is valid. The badge must link to the register entry. Licence to use it ends when the certificate expires or is withdrawn.
Renewal and monitoring
Certificates run for twelve months. Renewal requires a fresh review. Where we become aware that the facts behind a certificate have changed materially, the entry can be suspended or revoked and the register updated accordingly.
Certificate verification for third parties
Anyone can check a certificate without an account and without contacting the certified business. Buyers, procurement teams and partners use the register during onboarding to confirm that a credential presented to them is current.
