Scope of certification
VBC certification confirms that specific items were verified against published criteria, at the level stated on the certificate, on the date shown. It is not an audit of financial health, a guarantee of performance, quality or conduct, a credit rating, or a substitute for the due diligence any party should carry out for itself.
Reliance
Information on the public register is provided in good faith and reflects the position recorded at the time of the last review. Circumstances can change between reviews. Anyone relying on a register entry does so on the basis that it evidences a completed verification, not a continuing assurance about the business.
Accuracy of submitted information
Applicants are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of what they submit. Certification obtained on the basis of inaccurate or incomplete information may be suspended or revoked, and the register updated accordingly.
Use of the certification mark
The VBC badge may be displayed only while a certificate is valid, only by the business named on it, and only where it links to the corresponding register entry. Use after expiry or revocation, or by any other business, is unauthorised.
